Customize a dress by touch
The product team was assessing third-party platforms for dress customization for testing. They saw an opportunity for customers who would love the ability to tailor their own dress online.
To excite interest with the board, we created a sizzle video of what the interaction could feel like. Going far beyond the third-party interfaces, I proposed an organic interaction where users could tactiley manipulate the dress by dragging nodes connected to key dress components.
Animated concept

Animating the concept in After Effects, everyone was astonished by its simplicity. To people sight unseen, no further explanation was necessary after simply showing them the animation.
Prototyped concept
I took it a step further by actually building a fully-functional prototype in code. This also revealed new opportunities to fine-tune fades, transitions, and interactions to guide users through the experience. I also optimized the performance on how images loaded on an as-needed basis from any given state.
